Certificates with individual numbers are awarded to participants who successfully complete the course by passing a quiz, achieving perfect attendance, and demonstrating the appropriate attitudes, knowledge, and understanding.

Trainers individually record all aspects of trainee participation, with these records accessible to both staff and management. Teamwork is evaluated by applying the provided communication help scripts and through various physical activities conducted during the course.

Team Teach trainers will additionally support course members in the physical skills ensuring they demonstrate competence in during training. Competence in physical techniques is defined as the “ability to perform a skill independently within the training context.”

Follow-up support for individual participants, as needed, is discussed and agreed upon with the commissioning manager, along with the timing for reaccreditation. After training, a trainee’s Individual Evaluation Form and a Trainer Summary Evaluation Form are completed and can be available and sent to the Service Manager upon request. Additionally, a post-course questionnaire may be distributed to staff groups 1-3 months after the training to identify future training needs.

All Team Teach courses will encompass the full core theory foundational modules, consistently maintaining the 95% standard and ensuring this is always adhered to.

In an initial meeting between the responsible individual and lead trainer, they decide on the optional risk-reduction physical intervention techniques to be delivered based on the organisational needs, in addition to the Team Teach core modules. Team Teach advises the organisation on the paperwork that underpins practice.

Team Teach employs effective learning styles with a predominantly visual training approach that ensures high interaction and involvement from trainees. The delivery methods include presentations interspersed with media clips and relevant working examples, facilitated role-play, tabletop discussions around specific activities, and a low-level physical team-building warm-up that progresses to core and optional physical activities. To assess their knowledge and theoretical understanding, trainees also take a quiz.

For anyone who attended a course pre-2025, you will have been awarded a paper certificate at the end of your course, upon successful completion of the course. Should you have lost this, firstly you should contact the lead trainer from the course you completed, who can confirm this for you.

Alternatively, where we have a record on file of your completion, we can confirm your certification number. Please get in contact on info@teamteach.com.au with a written request.

Please note should you want a replacement paper copy of your certificate, an administrative charge will apply.

Post 2025, certificates upon successful completion of a course will be available to you in your Team Teach Connect account. This is available to you to download. Your organisation will also be able to access your certificate via their organisational account for their records.

Yes. External trainers can assist across other organisations, provided they are only in a supporting role and the leading in-house trainer(s) clearly hold responsibility for liability insurance arrangements.

No. Only trainers employed, contracted, and licensed by Team Teach are permitted to provide training outside of their employer’s service settings.

Ministry or Department-based trainers are permitted to train only direct employees of their employer e.g. a ministry, state/territory, or diocese or as per any other written agreements, to be signed by the Team Teach Director of L&D, which can be reviewed and amended at any time by Team Teach.

The initial step involves securing your employer’s support, as possessing the employer trainer certificate enables individuals to deliver training to their employer’s employees.

Then reach out to us at info@teamteach.com.au

In every organisation, we strongly advise having more than one trainer to ensure delegates benefit from the optimal learning experience and to have in-house behavior champions available to support any internal changes.

Please note that Team Teach does not issue trainer certificates permitting individuals to establish private practices.

The best results occur when parents are active partners with the organisation in understanding and supporting the use of the Team Teach behavioural framework approach.

This is best achieved through sharing and involving the parent(s)/carer(s)/advocate(s) in their loved ones Individual Support Plan / Behaviour Support Plan (BSP). All aspects of this plan should be explained, especially the preferred de-escalation skills, as well as any identified physical interventions and the agreed reporting process concerning any incidents involving the individual.

Where an individual has a known medical complication and staff must plan for a physical response, as identified within the Individual Support Plan/Behaviour Support Plan, then the written view of a medically qualified person (normally doctor or consultant) that knows the individual and their condition(s) best should be sought. This should include showing them the techniques that are being considered in relation to the individual’s plan.

It should be explained to parent(s)/carer(s)/advocate(s) that the Team Teach approach is a behavioural framework, with an emphasis on safety for all, with the need for staff to understand what is potentially causing the behaviours of concern and what environmental changes, non-verbal and verbal strategies should be used first where possible before any interventions restrictive physical are applied.

Parent(s)/carer(s)/advocate(s) can also be shown the Team Teach workbook and theory table-top activities that staff underwent on the course to help explain the need to personalise the agreed responses within the Individual Support Plan or Behaviour Support Plan. If appropriate, selected physical interventions can be demonstrated to the parent(s)/carer(s), via a video file or in person through trainers, but it must be made clear to parents that they are not being trained through such a process.

It is then down to leadership and management within a setting to put this framework to its most effective and caring use. All incidents of restraint should be recorded, reported, and reviewed.

Different states and sectors across Australia and New Zealand have their specific policy, we recommend that you are aware of the policy in place and can also reference this.

A helpful handout is also available in the trainer’s area, for organisations to have on offer where Team Teach is used within their service(s).
