Behaviour Support Training: Advance Modules

Overview

Our Positive Behaviour Support Advanced Modules are available for organisations supporting children, young people and vulnerable adults with extreme, aggressive, dangerous and/or complex challenging behaviour, who may pose a risk to themselves or others in high-risk Education and Health and Social Care settings.

  • This group course is tailored to the needs of your organisation, we will discuss the specific needs of your environment and service users, and devise a curriculum to meet them, focusing on the modules that will best meet your requirements.

Learning Outcomes

Participants will learn;

  • Strategies to ensure personal safety and the reduction of risk and restraint
  • A wide range of safe and authorised physical restraint techniques which are appropriate in safely responding to and designed for best supporting distressed behaviour, which focus on maximum care -minimum force
  • To build confidence and competence to apply a range of physical restraint and handling strategies, with the knowledge to help choose the appropriate and safest response every time
  • The ability to understand the rationale and principles of the Team Teach approach, and will understand the use of physical restraint as part of a holistic approach to managing behaviour.
  • The confidence to apply a range of physical restraint and handling strategies, and will have the knowledge to help choose the appropriate response every time.
  • The importance of risk reduction and de-escalation, both verbal and non-verbal, and will be equipped with positive handling expertise to maintain a safe response in a wide range of high-risk environments.

  • Advanced Ground Holds
  • Ground Fights and Assaults
  • Transport
  • Everyday Objects Used as Weapons

Number of participants

This course is designed for groups of 8 or 16 participants. Fewer participants may attend, but you will be billed in units of 8 participants. Prices given are exclusive of VAT and trainer expenses.

Key Course Information

This is a 6hr course, delivered in-house on your site.

Participants must have a current Level 2 certificate to attend this course.

Participants will receive a Course Workbook and, upon successful completion, a certificate valid for 12 months.

Connect Fee

From the 1st January 2024, Team Teach Connect costs just £200 (+VAT) per setting, per year, with a 25% discount offered in 2024.

As this is a per setting charge, every Team Teach certified individual in a setting can access Team Teach Connect. Access is free to Team Teach Connect for anyone who holds a valid certificate until the 31st August 2024, or until new training is completed.

To book, select from the available dates and locations below. You can book online using a valid credit card or generate an invoice for your employer.

Additionally, you acknowledge training purchased for delivery from 2024, will include Team Teach Connect as part of your purchase. Team Teach Connect fee (£200 + VAT per setting) will only be billed to your organisation once trainee(s) are certified and will be reduced to £150 + VAT for 2024.
